Burnett signs with Tenn. State
Northwest College sophomore Katie Burnett will continue her volleyball career at the NCAA Division I level after inking a letter of intent with Tennessee State University. The Tigers, out of the Ohio Valley Conference, are coming off an 18-14 season that ended in the semifinals of the conference tournament.

A stellar fall sports season at Northwest College culminated with the recognition of three student-athletes for All- American honors and one Trapper coach for surpassing a victory milestone.

NWC Trappers ousted in regional tournament
The No. 20 Northwest College Trappers fell short of an opportunity to qualify for the national championships, dropping two of three games at the Region IX North tournament last week in Powell. The Trappers conclude their season at 21- 11 overall.

Trapper women pick up wins
The Northwest College women’s volleyball team saw two of its losses transform into victories late last week following a ruling by the National Junior College Athletic Association. The record change stems from an NJCAA ruling last week that Central Wyoming College must vacate all victories dating back to the start of the 2010 season.

Trappers seize top seed
The No. 20 Northwest College volleyball team swept past Sheridan on Wednesday night 25-21, 25-22, 25-9 to lock in the No. 1 seed at this week’s Region IX North tournament. The win also wrapped up a 19-11 regular season record for NWC and gave the college the regular-season regional title.

Volleyball returns to rankings
On the eve of the Region IX North volleyball tournament, the Northwest College Trappers cracked the national rankings in the latest poll released by the NJCAA. The poll, released Wednesday morning, shows the Trappers ranked No. 20 in the nation

Trappers back on top of Region IX North
The Northwest College volleyball team played its way back on top of the Region IX North standings over the weekend, sweeping Laramie County and Eastern Wyoming in three games. The Trappers have a chance to secure both the regular-season title and No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament this Wednesday.

Outside looking in
A victory last Saturday over then No. 15 Western Wyoming wasn’t enough to move Northwest College into a spot in the top 20 in the latest round of the NJCAA volleyball rankings. For a third consecutive week, the Trappers rank among a number of schools residing just outside the rankings.

Trappers put on the pink for weekend matches
When the Northwest College volleyball team shows up in pink at its Friday and Saturday matches Oct. 19 and 20, don’t worry that the Trapper’s crimson and gray uniforms are fading. The new color means Coach Shaun Pohlman and his players will be fighting a dual battle — against their opponents and against breast cancer.

Trappers down No. 15 Western Wyoming
The Northwest College Trappers rode another outstanding night from NJCAA national player of the week Ana Jakovljevic and the momentum generated by a couple timely kills from local product Olivia Rogers to a 25- 22, 23-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-12 victory over No. 15 Western Wyoming on Saturday.
