Trapper Rodeo

Welcome

The goal of the Northwest College Rodeo Program is to transition young rodeo athletes into collegiate-level competitors while helping them develop as well-rounded individuals. Northwest rodeo team members grow as individuals, both in the arena and out, and learn how to work as a team. When they graduate from Northwest, these athletes are academically prepared to transfer to a four-year institution or enter directly into a vocational career, and to launch into the pro rodeo circuit if they desire.

NWC competes in the Big Sky Region, long recognized as one of the toughest competitive regions in collegiate rodeo. Northwest consistently stays near or at the top of National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association rankings by recruiting solid individuals with coachable skills and then providing highly disciplined practice sessions and extracurricular training schools.

The NWC program is supported by an active Rodeo Council that underwrites the team’s travel costs, scholarships and special schooling opportunities.
