POWELL, Wyo. - The Northwest College Studio Singers and Jazz Band present their annual Jazz Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium. This performance highlights music performed by both groups on their recent tour of eastern Wyoming.

The Studio Singers, directed by Craig Olson, offer a lineup of tunes including “Blue Monk” by Thelonius Monk, “Down at Smokey Joe’s” by Ken Kraintz and Paris Rutherford’s arrangement of “Alice in Wonderland.” The rhythm section takes the spotlight with “Stolen Moments” by Oliver Nelson.

The Northwest Jazz Band I, directed by Neil Hansen, performs titles like “Hot House” and “Licked Clean,” as well as Gershwin’s “But Not For Me” and a Tommy Newsome arrangement of “Tanya Jeanne.”

The concert will close with the Studio Singers joining the Jazz Band on James Brown’s rhythm-and-blues tune “Living in America.”

Admission to the concert is free.
