With a long and varied legal career, Cody native John Housel is a devout proponent of higher learning. He is a strong advocate for greater presence of NWC in Cody and for increased enrollment of Cody students. He is an outdoor enthusiast with interests in civic betterment, history, geology and Shakespeare. He has two children.

A retired secondary math/science teacher, Nada Larsen is a Meeteetse native and proud NWC graduate. She strongly supports the community college system in Wyoming and is committed to the mission of NWC. She lives with her husband on the family ranch on Woodriver.

Paul Fees was Senior Curator at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center for 20 years and now is an independent historian. He earned his B.A. at Stanford University in history and his M.A. and Ph.D. at Brown University. His association with NWC began 30 years ago as an adjunct instructor, and his interest in and regard for the college have continued to grow.

Carolyn Danko came to Powell in 1969 when her husband began teaching at Northwest. After retiring from four decades of public school teaching, she remained involved in education by seeking a Board seat. She’s attended the University of North Dakota and Kansas State University, and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wyoming.

Dusty earned a BS in Civil Engineering at the Univ. of Neb.–Omaha and is a former Army Nat’l. Guard Officer. A WY native, he is CEO/co-owner of GDA Engineers, a Cody engineering/surveying/planning firm. He, his wife Betsy and two children enjoy snowboarding, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. Dusty’s interests include K-12 and post-secondary education.

Born and raised in California, but educated in Indiana and Arizona, Mark has now called Wyoming home for 30 years. He and his wife Patty have three college-age daughters. He’s been a family physician in Powell since 1989, first in his own practice and then in ExpressCare since it opened in 2004. He helped bring education of medical students to Powell in the late ’90s and since that time has annually taught medical students.

Currently Senior Vice President at Pinnacle Bank in Cody, WY, Mark Westerhold brings 30 years of business and banking experience to his position as a trustee. An alumnus who had a great experience at NWC, two of his children also attended Northwest. He believes NWC provides excellent educational opportunities and is a wonderful asset to the area.
